Photographer Captures Awesomeness of Best Mullets From Around World MulletFest 2020

Mullets are truly one of the greatest hairstyles. In fact, they’re so cool; the hairstyle has its own catchphrase, “Business up front, party in the back.” Now, there are many different styles of mullets out there, but to qualify, one must have shaved or shorter hair in the front and long hair in the back. Some folks love to accent their mullets with various mustaches and sideburns (totally optional). And while many may mock and tease the all-mighty mullet, it’s one of those styles that are still around, unlike some others.

Wearing a mullet isn’t just about the hair; it’s about an attitude, a rebel spirit in which one declares oneself to be cool no matter what the “haters” have to say about it. Mullets are certainly not for the meek and self-conscious, you’ve got to be pretty confident to rock this hairstyle, or else folks will eat you alive. Now, while this hairstyle may seem like it came about during the ’70s, it actually dates back to ancient times. For example, the Greek poet Homer once described a group of men in his poem “The Iliad” as having  “their forelocks cropped, hair grown long at the backs.” And perhaps one of the most-famous mullets in history was Benjamin Franklin’s iconic hairstyle.
