In 2020, many of us have gone months without enjoying the simple luxury of dining out at our favorite restaurants. This has been among the many daily sacrifices we have had to endure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. And in certain places, where the virus has been a bit more under control, many folks have chosen to go out and enjoy a nice dinner out with their friends, family, and loved ones. One man decided to take his girlfriend out to enjoy a nice romantic dinner at Gordan Ramsey’s world-famous steak restaurant.
However, their dining experience nearly ended in disaster after the man accidentally misread the menu and wound up paying way more than he had in his budget. The man took to Reddit to explain his blunder.
Like many folks worldwide, the anonymous diner wished to go out and treat himself and his girlfriend after spending months in quarantine.
So he figured he’d go out and “splurge” a bit on some mouth-watering Wagyu beef. However, while reading the menu, another dish caught his eye.
The author confessed that he’d only had Wagyo twice his entire life but had never once tasted the “real deal, Kobe.”
The man who shared that he was in his 40s also said that the steak more than lived up to all the hype and was absolutely “amazing.”
As for the rest of their meal, the man explains that they ordered a few appetizers, sides, and his girlfriend enjoyed their “famous beef Wellington for the first time.”
The Redditor would summarize their dining experience saying:
Alas…he was sorely mistaken.
The revelation of his error hit the man like a ton of bricks.
However, one commenter advised the man to cheer up and look on the bright side, explaining:
Well, that’s certainly one way to see it! If the steak didn’t send him to heaven, the bill almost certainly could have done the job!
