Most of us have a jar of Vick’s VapoRub around the house and maybe it’s even collecting dust. A jar will last a long time in most homes. However, once you learn how many things you can use it for, it may become one of your most prized possessions. VapoRub is a popular product used to treat colds, and the active ingredients are menthol, eucalyptus, and camphor. These ingredients work together to help relieve nasal congestion and they’re also great for coughs. The great thing is that like many household and wellness products, this one has a ton of other uses that you probably never imagined.
1. Insect Repellant
You can use VapoRub to repel mosquitos, flies, and other insects.
2. Headache Relief
If you have a headache, the menthol in VapoRub will help to lower your blood pressure. This may help with your headache, as well. Just rub a little on your forehead and see if it helps.

3. Foot Care
Before you go to bed, put some VapoRub on your feet under your socks. The product will help with dry and cracked skin. The next day, wash your feet in cold water and scrape away the dead skin with a pumice stone before using your regular foot care product.
4. Belly Fat
You can use 1 tablespoon of crushed camphor, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and 1 tablespoon of alcohol. Add these to a jar of Vicks and get it into a paste. Before doing exercise, rub this mixture onto your abdomen and wrap it with plastic wrap. When you’re done working out, rinse it off with water.
5. Pet Urine
If you have an area of your home where pets urinate and you want them to stop, leave an open jar of Vicks out there and they will avoid the area.
6. Cats Scratching Furniture
Remember animals not liking Vicks? As it turns out, if your cats are scratching your furniture, this is a good way to make them stop. Leave a jar of Vicks nearby.

8. Toenail Fungus
The ingredients in Vicks will help with toenail fungus. Put the Vicks on your feet at night and wear socks to bed. Then wash the next day.
If you rub Vicks on a bruise, it will help speed up the healing.
Hey @SinexBrand no need to replace your VapoRub product. Expiration dates don't matter either. I'm still using mine and about halfway in! So that'll put this jar at 50 years of use at my rate! Amazing shelf life! Exp. 1996 #vicksvaporub pic.twitter.com/OZ3tDvHLRj

To help with an earache, put some VapoRub on a cotton ball and put it in your ear. Leave it there for a few hours, then go to the doctor. This won’t cure your infection, but it may help with pain and inflammation.
Put a thin layer of Vicks over your acne and do this consistently.
You know what never lets me down? Vicks VapoRub. It's still the same glorious mentholated chest hair-burner I remember from childhood. Magic. pic.twitter.com/MTmYC57Spo
